DOES BRAND DESIGN TAKE COURAGE?

 

How different are European and Asian designers, customers, brand owners and packaging producers - and what do we have in common? We invited designers from East and West to share with us how they work and how they approach design challenges. Design managers from The Absolut Company Sweden and Suntory Beverage & Food Japan provided insights into their branding strategies. Design success stories from all over the world - Malaysia, the Netherlands, Vietnam, France, Thailand inspired participants from East to West.

 

This event was a very special one - not least because the city has been designated the 2016 World Design Capital. A stunning supporting programme was developed by epda member, Jennifer Tsai, from Proad Identity, which took us on a cultural journey to get an authentic taste of Asia.

How can we apply innovative “design thinking” to overcome the constraints that limited resources place on our city’s development, to pursue continual renewal and change in our urban governance, to create happiness in the lives of our citizens, to bring citizens a better quality of life in a livable city, and to create a forward-looking city with design vision?
